Business name generator with trademark check

Most name generators hand you names that are already taken. This one generates brandable names and clears each against millions of US, EU, Australian and international trademarks in the same step, so you start from names you can actually own.

Style

How it works

  1. 1. Describe your business

Tell us your industry and the style you want. We generate twelve brandable names.

  2. 2. We clear every name

Each one is checked against US, EU, Australian and international trademark registers.

  3. 3. See what is open

Get a verdict on each name, the conflicting marks behind it, and a downloadable shortlist.

Why clear names matter

Picking a name that is already a registered trademark is one of the most expensive early mistakes a business makes: cease-and-desist letters, a forced rebrand, lost domain and marketing spend. Clearing a name up front costs nothing. This tool gives you the early signal; a trademark attorney gives you the certainty.

Frequently asked

Is the business name generator free?

Yes. Generate as many sets as you like. Your email unlocks the full clearance report and the download, and subscribes you to occasional Councl notes you can leave anytime.

How does the trademark check work?

Every generated name is run against the live US, EU, Australian and international (WIPO) trademark registers for identical and phonetically similar marks, the same data behind professional clearance, more than 147 million records.

Does "likely clear" mean the name is available?

No. It is a strong early signal, not a clearance, and not legal advice. It does not cover every national register, state filings, or unregistered common-law use. Confirm with a trademark attorney before you file.

What do the verdicts mean?

Likely clear means no close marks were found. Closer look means similar marks exist and deserve a read. Conflict means an identical live mark is already on the register.
